4.1.0 - Keepit Minor Release will be released November 10 to the UK environment, November 11 to the AP and US environments, and November 12 to the EU environment.
This release includes several improvements, including to Teams channels restore, backup speed, performance, and our internal monitoring system, as well as various bug fixes.
Improvements
Global admin requirement changes
Microsoft 365 Global admin service account now required only for deployment, not for ongoing backup.
Decreased permission footprint in Microsoft 365
Now we need fewer permissions from Microsoft 365 to backup and restore data.
Private channels in Teams now backed up by default
We now automatically add the Global admin service account to private channels allowing us to access the data and back up the channel. Accordingly, it is no longer necessary for the channel owner to manually make the Global admin a member of the channel.
Also as part of this update, now when a private channel is restored, the Global Admin becomes an owner.
Improved Teams channels restore
We are now using a new API version - API v1.0 - for Team channels restore, which will ensure even better channels restore across all customer accounts.
Auto-scaling improvements
We have introduced auto-scaling improvement to improve performance. This will lead to better initial backup and synchronization speed, regular backups, and faster onboarding.
Monitoring system optimization
We can now better handle warning messages to optimize the discovery and resolution of platform problems.
Bug Fixes
