10.1.1 - Keepit Release Notes

We are happy to announce the upcoming release of Keepit 10.1.1. Please follow the release progress on the Keepit Status page.

What's New in the Keepit Platform

Reduced permissions for connector authentication and restore actions

We've minimized the permissions required for creating and authenticating connectors, now limiting them to the least privileged built-in role: Privileged Role Administrator.

Additionally, restore actions that previously required Global Administrator rights—such as SharePoint site external settings, site quota settings, and communication site restores—will now use application permissions. This means you no longer need to use highly privileged accounts for these actions, enhancing security and simplifying access management.

What's New in the Partner Management Console

Enhanced usage breakdown for improved seat management

We’ve made significant improvements to our seat usage page, providing a more detailed breakdown of consumed seats. This enhancement offers a clearer overview, enabling you to better monitor your customers' seat usage over time.

To further support you and your customers in understanding Keepit for Microsoft 365 seat consumption, we've introduced two new seat categories: Faculty and Student. Alongside the existing Full and Light seats, these additions now more closely align with Microsoft’s current license plans.

These new seat types are now shown for all accounts with standard Keepit Service Offerings and are visible in the PMC and for customers in the Keepit platform.

If you have any questions regarding the applicability of this enhancements, usage, or pricing, please reach out to the Keepit Customer Success Team: [email protected]
