You can restore conditional access policies, compliance policies, configuration profiles, authentication methods, authentication strengths, and named locations.  


Restore a policy

1. In your connector, find the policy you want to restore.
2. Optional: If you want to restore an item from an earlier point in time, open the Snapshots Viewer. Then select the appropriate snapshot.
3. To the right of the item, click ••• Restore.
4. Click Yes to restore the item.

Note: To restore multiple items at a time, select the items. In the toolbar, click Restore.


What happens when I restore a policy

All data is restored in place. 


Conditional access policy

Restoring a conditional access policy will update the following settings:

  • Assignments (to users, cloud apps or actions, conditions)
  • Grant and session access controls
  • Enable status


Compliance policy

Restoring a device compliance policy will update its settings (policy properties) and assignments.


Restore limitation:

  • Device and user status read-only statistics are not restored. However, Microsoft will evaluate them automatically.


Configuration profile

Restoring a device configuration profile will update its settings (policy properties) and assignments.
