How we count Salesforce licenses

We count how many licenses are being consumed by an organization. We count all active licenses except for Chatter External, Chatter Free licenses, Partner Community, Customer Community, and Customer Community Plus.

Seats in sandbox environments are counted the same way as in production environments. However, charges will also apply to any active users with licenses in the sandbox environment.

Check your user license count in Salesforce

To confirm your user license count in Salesforce, navigate to Setup > Company Settings > Company Information. 

In the related list, you can view your user licenses. 

We bill based on total licenses except for those highlighted in red.
