Restore Salesforce records to a sandbox environment

1. On the Connectors page, point to your Salesforce connector and click the Restore icon.

2. Click Restore to different location and select Sandbox.


3. Select Sign in.
You will be redirected to the Salesforce sign-in page. Enter your Salesforce System Admin user account credentials for the sandbox environment.

4. Choose a snapshot from the time you want to restore and click Next.

5. Decide how you want to select records to restore and click Next.

  • If you choose Manually select records, select which records you want to restore. 
  • If you have a CSV file with a list of records IDs, you can select Upload CSV of records

6. Proceed to select the records you want to restore and click Next.

7. Choose whether to also restore related records and click Next.
Enabling this function will restore all related records lower in the hierarchy, including files and attachments.

8. Select whether to restore specific fields and anonymize data. Click Next.
Anonymizing fields replaces sensitive data with dummy data. 

Note: Certain fields such as ID and Name must be restored.

9. Review the summary and click Restore


Check the results of the restore 

1. Navigate to the Job Monitor to view the progress of the restore. 

2. Refresh the page to see updated progress. An in-app message and email will also be sent once the restore is complete.

3. If the job is incomplete, click on the Show more icon to review the details.

3. Click the Download arrow to download the list of skipped items.

4. Review and address errors.

  • Review the errors that caused the records to fail.
  • Make any necessary changes, such as turning off Duplicate Rules in Salesforce.
  • Perform an additional restore as appropriate.
